Friends of The Fox
Business and websites the Fox has fallen in love with.....
Pistachio Giraffe
I delivered my last much loved VW cot bed sheet to an East Dulwich address a couple of weeks ago, and the minute the front door opened, I was blown away by the beautiful use of light and colour in the space and instantly recognised some gorgeous pieces by one of my long times loves, Designers Guild. Makes sense that it is the abode of Laura, the owner of Pistachio Giraffe, an interiors consultation practice and vintage furniture restorer. If you want individual and quirky furniture for your little one, look no further than the Giraffe, and long live colour!!!!!
Boori
We thought very long and hard about the right cot for our little girl, and after much pondering, finally settled on a Boori Sleigh Bed. The boys came round and put it up for us and it has done what it says on the tin and over the last 3 years has grown beautifully with ever bigger child!
Chocolate Creative
Margarita Lorenzo and I had a lovely chat about fabrics and design one Saturday morning at my stall on Northcross Rd. Little did I know the items she handmakes just down the road from me would be as wonderful as they are. Great design blog too.
Thrupenny bits
Breastfeeding pillows that look great, do what you need them to and can be used as a stylish bag.
Wonderful Wellies
The Norwegians say there is no such thing as 'bad weather' - only the wrong clothes. Given the distinct possibility of puddle abundance in the coming months, you've gotta have a good pair of wellies for you and the little ones. I love wellies, but after 10 years in the UK I still haven't got out of the antipodean habit of calling them 'gumboots'. 'Wonderful Wellies has the best collection I've seen, and it always feels great to support small UK businesses.
Mae
Well, we would Love Mae, since we have started to stock them, but in case you would like to check their stuff out on their actual site, well, off you go!
Push Studios
Great little personal training studio in the heart of East Dulwich, with a fab range of unusual classes on offer. And Kevin's a top bloke!
Jacks Tea & Coffee House
The best little cafe in East Dulwich and the Fox's second home. Slightly off the beaten track on Pellatt Road. Great food and child-friendly (as long as you don't let them run wild).
Bow Wow Meow
Lisa and her team are, based on our experience, the most wonderful, caring and responsible dog walkers in our hood. They took wonderful care of our now departed Foxy. Lisa picks up her doggie companions in a London cab and whisks them off to the park and woods! Contact me for Lisa's number.
Cool Mummy
Check out this talented artist's website. As a lifetime lover of puppet shows, I especially love her puppet theatre!
Bambino Goodies
We came upon Bambino Goodies after they gave our sheets a great review. Since then, we've become addicted to their daily Feedblitz, which keep us in the know about the coolest stuff for little uns.
East Dulwich Forum
We East Dulwich dwellers love and fear the East Dulwich Forum - if it's happening in the hood, it'll be on the Forum! The 'Family Room' section of the forum is a great place for picking up all sorts of sprog related tips, and the 'General' section is highly cathartic for locals needing a rant.
